Our History
Bethlehem Tertiary Institute (BTI) was established on the same campus as Bethlehem College in 1993. BTI is a non-denominational Christian institute and was the first teachers college to be established in the Bay of Plenty region and now offers programmes in teaching and counselling by distance and onsite.
Being part of the Bethlehem Campus gives those in teacher education programmes the opportunity to work in the early childhood, primary and secondary classrooms on campus alongside experienced and committed teachers, as well as in State schools.

BTI - Our Distinctive
BTI is motivated by a deep, robust Christian faith and passion to release graduates to be agents of profound change.
BTI aspires to be a light on the hill that guides and inspires; leading the way in philosophy and practice.
We are a community of learners responsible with, and accountable to one another in our commitment to serve others, working cooperatively to achieve our collective and individual callings.
We are committed to the distinctive vision of Christian Tertiary education that is radically biblical, holistically formative and contagiously influential.
