How do I Apply?
Students wishing to be admitted to the Institute's programmes are required to submit the following as part of their application:
1. Completed Application Form, signed Privacy Act agreement form, completed Confidential Questionnaire form.
2. Three completed confidential referee forms (from people such as a local minister/pastor/elder, a school principal, an employer, a friend) posted directly to us by the referee.
3. You must submit a hand-written personal essay, of 500 words, outlining reasons for seeking entry to the programme.
4. A current Curriculum Vitae.
5. If credit is being requested for previous study in the same area of study, then the Recognition of Prior Learning form is needed along with supporting details of previous study.
NB Applicants for single papers on Restricted Enrolment need only submit the Application and Privacy Act forms.
Interview
A panel from the academic staff will interview all applicants eligible for entry into a programme. Interviews will be carried out at the Tertiary Institute or by telephone and are intended to supplement evidence of character, academic achievement and motivation. The panel will recommend to the Academic Board the names of successful candidates for confirmation.
Prior to an interview, applicants for the Early Childhood programme may be recommended to visit an Early Childhood centre and be able to talk about their experience there.
Offer of Places
Applications will be received at any time and for as long as places are available. We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible to seek to secure their place in a programme.
Interviews will be held soon after a complete application is received and the outcome, including an offer of a place, is advised soon after the interview.
